Some models ( especially helicopters ) can't be flown properly when using a joystick with only 3 axis or less! This will give you the best flying experience. I have had it for 2 weeks or so and am still in AWE at the power. Now That my two Boys are doing their own Thing, the Dad can go back to his own Game Drive. You will most likely have a blast with either truck, but the E-Revo brushless is, IMHO, the most versatile RC available. I vote for the E-Revo brushless - it is an awesome monster truck that can bash with the best (I can't believe the confidence I have gotten with this thing - I babied it for all of 10 minutes and then started doing 10-20ft jumps! It's just that tough and fast!! With 2 2s lipos I can reach ~35mph, and with 2 3s lipos (my main batteries now after learning to control the throttle) I can reach nearly 50 on stock gearing, and much faster with higher gearing! With brushless, you also don't really need the 2-speed transmission, as the torque output of the MMM is just awesome. You can easily raise it to the riding height of the summit. The E-Revo brushless can be configured for most terrains. You could also upgrade the Summit to brushless, but then you are at around $1000 just for the truck + MMM + 2.4GHz radio, and you would lose your waterproof capability. The summit is indeed very versatile, and has some cool features, but if you want speed you will not get it. I ended up going with the E-Revo Brushless and have never had so much fun with an RC!!! I also had the same predicament - and was also debating between the Summit and E-Revo brushless. I have the cash available to purchase either one and to keep up with the parts and the upgrade demands ahead. I have always valued the opinion of the community and hope you guys can give me a little more info before I go ahead with the purchase. It would be great to hear from some people who own both or who own just one of them. ![]() The Revo has huge potential to be fast and beatable, but the Summit gives the option to do some low end rock crawling as well as taking a little beating. I just don't think I want to get back into nitro. I loved that I could beat the savage pretty hard with little to no damage. Prior to this I had a Savage-X, T and E-maxx, RC18T, and a mini-t. I love the whole idea of rock crawling which is making the Summit look really good, but I love the speed and potential of the E-Revo. I have a few spots around my house I like to drive. This time though I plan to buy one truck and put my money into that one. I have always been the kind of person that gets into something and needs to have everything. I got out of RC for about a year and am trying to come back in. There are always threads about this truck vs this other truck.
